Crime Stoppers Program
The Pleasant Hill Police Department is a strong supporter of and actively participates in the Polk County Crime Stoppers. Crime Stoppers is based on the principal that "someone other than the criminal has information that can solve a crime." Reporting that knowledge can earn a reward in cash. It also encourages citizens to fight crime whenever possible and make their community a safer place. more info

"A child is a person who is going to carry on what you have started. He is going to sit where you are sitting and when you are gone, attend to those things which you think are important. You may adopt all the policies you please, but how they are carried out depends on him. He will assume control of your cities, states, and nations. He is going to move in and take over your churches, schools, universities, and corporations... the -fate of humanity is in his hands."

INTRODUCTION
We would like to introduce you to the Pleasant Hill Police Department's BLUE STAR program and invite you to take an active part in developing a safe community for our children.
PURPOSE
The emphasis of the program is a bright BLUE STAR placed in a window or positioned on a house so as to be easily seen from the sidewalk or street. The BLUE STAR tells the youngster that they may go to this home for help in case of any emergency.
The core of the program is citizens of the community like you offering an open door to a child in distress. If he/she is a lost child, one who is hurt, in danger of abuse, molestation or frightened for any reason, (real or imagined) he/she may seek the safety of a BLUE STAR home.
The role of the BLUE STAR home is for its adult occupant to be available, watch for, and take necessary responsive action if a child in need of help should come to that home.
.
This identified willingness through the BLUE STAR symbol provides our children with a safe environment should they ever encounter a dangerous or scary situation. It is necessary that we all remember that an actual valid emergency can confront a child on any street at any time and that the BLUE STAR home could be the closest and fastest aid available.
BLUE STAR HOMES
Ideally, there should be one BLUE STAR home on each side of the street in each block. If a BLUE STAR parent is not at home; the other one will be home in all probability.
RESPONSIBILITIES
You as a parent are responsible for teaching your child many safety measures such as; the safest route to and from school, crossing the streets safely, and knowing where the BLUE STAR homes are located. The Pleasant Hill Police Department will supplement your safety instructions.

within the community.
Section 22 of this ordinance prohibits parking on private
residences and businesses, in the following way; the

junk vehicles as defined in the Pleasant Hill Code
of Ordinances Chapter 50 are included.
