CLASSES:

 Adult Classes are offered at the library through Des Moines Adult Ed. Check out all the classes which are available at their website: www.dmced.org or call 515-242-8521.

TOOTHBRUSH (NALBINDING) RUG MAKING, BEGINNINGTuesdays, 6-8 pm,

June 22 – July 13th; $28.00 class fee) Learn a new skill from the past requiring no sewing talent that you can use to make wonderful items for your home or to use as gifts.  You will use strips of fabric, no thread and a wood needle.  There is no counting just something to relax and do.  Information on additional expences (needle, fabric, optional book) will be shared at first class. Pre-register by calling Adult Ed. at 515-242-8521.

BASIC SOAP-MAKING Wednesdays, July 7- July 28th , 6-8 pm; $58.00 Can you only draw ‘stick figures’? This class is a great way to learn basic drawing! Bring an 11x14 sketchbook and a pencil to the first class, where you will also receive the materials list. Pre-register by calling Adult Ed. at 515-242-8521.

B.E.S.T.Program: Bringing Education and Seniors Together. We plan a day trip once a month to local sights. Times will vary according to destination. Call the library at 266-7815 for questions and to reserve your seat. Also find out what trip we have planned or add your name to the mailing list.

Book Discussion: The 4th Monday of each month at 7 pm. On June 28th, the group will be discussing People of the Book by Geraldine Brooks  . For more information, please call the library at 266-7815.

Computer Class for Beginning Learners :  One on one instruction is being offered. The class consists of three one hour sessions. A series of classes is being scheduled for the near future. Space will be limited, for more information or to register, please call 266-7815.

Movies and Popcorn: The fourth Thursday of every month at 6 pm

Creative Kids Craft: Wednesdays at 4 pm, 6 & up. Please pre-register for craft class, call the library at 266-7815.

Li'bear'y Story Time: Wednesdays & Thursdays at 10 a.m. & 10:30 am. Stories, crafts for pre-schoolers.
